Love Transcends Death
Love Transcends Death
by Martha MacFarland
News of death can leave us paralyzed
Whether it happens when expected
Or when it occurs suddenly
Young or old, peacefully or tragically
The pain is there in a spectrum of intensities
And we try to navigate the stages of our grief
Denial, confusion, shock
Anger, frustration, anxiety
Depression, helplessness
We struggle to find meaning in the loss
To make sense of the situation
To understand the timing of the death
This person’s transition to a non-physical realm
And at some point
When grief has worked its course
We learn to accept the outcome
Yet life feels different, surreal
And we wonder how to adapt to a new normal
How to move on with the loss
When part of our heart is still raw with grief
From the absence of the person
And somewhere
Maybe in the late-night hours when we cannot sleep
Maybe during a walk in nature
Maybe sitting with a memory of the person
Maybe a visit in our dreams while we are asleep
A window opens for communication, for a connection
And we find comfort
When we open our minds and hearts
To the presence that links us to a higher dimension
And we realize that energy from our departed ones
Still resonates with us
Still exists from the other side and is
Still tethered to our soul
While we may not understand the mystery of death and
While we may not recognize the plans that a soul makes to exit this world
We do know a connection to a spiritual intuition exists
Letting us access a loving stream of consciousness
Raising our vibration to trust in the divine tapestry of life
When we surrender to our Higher Self with God
And we realize a more perfect love exists in the heavenly realms
Away from ego and attachments
Because love has the ability to transcend death
And reassures us that our souls are eternal
And we are always connected to our loved ones in spirit
In the Conscious Oneness of God
